Finding inspiration for design projects is one thing. Organising it and turning that inspiration into a more cohesive base for creating a design that ‘wow’s’ is a different matter. The solution? Mood boards!

Mood boards can serve many purposes, starting with organising the inspiration around a project. They can be a valuable resource through out the design project, to help keep the style & aesthetic consistent and on track with clients goals & expectations. The important thing is to include as many elements as needed to convey the look and feel of the design being created. Creating a mood board can also prevent the dreaded ‘I’ll know it when i see it syndrome’, and when designers meet clients expectations from the beginning, the client puts more faith in the designers ability in the final design.
